JAPANESE/CHINESE MOODBOARD

I decided to further my idea by looking into patterns, cultures and art. I decided that I really liked the idea of using Japanese and Chinese floral prints as makeup for my brand image. I looked at Chinese and Japanese traditional make-up looks to start off with, which included the classic pale or white face with dark or bright colours on the eyes and lips. I then looked into more of a modern approach on the look and saw that the same white face was used but with a lot more colour. I went onto pinterest and searched for messy, floral like makeup looks and found the image in the top right. I instantly loved the look and thought I'd recreate it but with more of a Japanese feel. I looked into floral prints from both cultures and noticed that all of the classic flower prints showed that the flowers were very close together and almost messily laid out. For my Illamasqua look I want to create a messy makeup showing Japanese and Chinese features, like the close flower idea and the white face. I also want my Brand image to be very colourful because Illamasqua is a very vibrant brand and I want to stick with some of the norms of my brand. This idea relates well to my word 'NAKED' because the Japanese makeup seems to always have a white face and a white face is almost like a naked one, also the Japanese and Chinese show a lot of skin in their traditional outfits so this also relates to my word.
