BRAND IMAGE STORYBOARDS NO.1

I have explored different looks for my brand shoot which are presented through this storyboard. I started off by looking at classic Illamasqua images and advertisements. I've noticed how wacky and unusual some of the designs are and how they all have a theme. I also picked up on the fact that they have a very dark feel to them, and most of the backgrounds in the images are dark (either black or grey).

I also explored Japanese cultures as this is the theme I have decided to go with. I am going to use the idea of the white face and want to incorporate some of the floral patterns that are associated with Japan in my own way in my design.

Finally I explored different ways of applying the makeup. Some images included using using a stipple brush and stroking the product on the brush down the face, creating a scratched look. I like this idea but it doesn't really go with the theme of Japanese cultures. Some images simply stippled on the colour and some applied product in specific places to give a clean look. I think I'm going to stick to a very colourful messy look.
